The Sino-Myanmar pipeline is the oil and natural gas pipeline linking Myanmar's deep-water port of Kyaukphyu (Sittwe) in the Bay of Bengal, with Kunming in Yunnan province of China. The oil pipeline will have a capacity of 12 million tonnes of crude oil per year. It would diversify China's crude oil import routes from the Middle East and Africa, and avoid traffic through the Strait of Malacca. The gas pipeline will also allow delivery of natural gas from Burma's offshore fields to China with an expected annual capacity of up to 12 Billion Cubic Metres of natural gas.
Apac power has had the honor of supplying 22 FG Wilson generator sets to the South-east Asia Crude Oil and Gas Pipeline Company to support the daily operations of the crude oil and natural gas Pipeline stations along the Sino-Myanmar Pipelines. This pipeline is of great importance and it is worthy to note that some of the stations along the 4th longest power supply pipeline like Made Island, Sinkontai and Hsipaw stations, rely entirely on FG Wilson generator sets as their main and only power supply. We are happy to say that these sets have been keeping the stations running, successfully.
Our engineers and project managers tailor-made the power supply solution for this project based on the local environment and site conditions. Pre-sales and after-sales managers have visited the stations for investigation, testing and commissioning so as to guarantee the start of the project. Our parts department has been offering parts and overhaul suggestions for the project over the years. We thus ensure that our clients are always happy and that the work doesn’t stop. 15 units of FG Wilson generators (12 gas generators and 3 diesel generators) have been supplied to the crude oil pipeline which starts from Made Island in Myanmar and stretches over 1631 km. 7 FG Wilson units (5 gas generators and 2 diesel generators) have been used in natural gas pipeline starting from Kyaukpyu Bay and stretches for 1727 km.
